The opening of the largest Levi’s store in Slovenia comes shortly after the impressive 150th anniversary of the first jeans, the legendary 501. It all started in the 1850s and 1860s in the USA, when Levi Strauss, a German immigrant selling textiles, was suggested by a tailor to install copper rivets on his trousers.

The tailor became Strauss’s partner and they patented the copper reinforcement trousers in 1873 – today known as the Levi’s 501! Initially worn by cowboys and miners, they were worn by everyone in the 60s and 70s in the era of hippie subculture and fashion expression.

A fashion classic and probably the most popular jeans model in history, the Levi’s 501 has stood out on the market since its beginning thanks to a quality of material that few brands can boast.
